Our diversity education programmes aim to develop in students a sense of respect and appreciation for fellow Singaporeans of different social groups; and help them learn how to harness diversity in an increasingly diverse workplace. We achieve this by raising awareness of personal orientations and bias through honest self-reflection and open sharing, and provide them with simple skills for respectful engagement. Our belief is that while celebratory approaches to diversity education are important, we should also encourage open and critical discourse within safe group settings, especially for more mature students.
We are currently working with OnePeople.Sg to provide 2-day training programmes for students and teachers:
The Students' Programme emphasises personal awareness and provides a simple framework to help them interact in a responsible and respectful manner.
The Teachers' Programme aims to increase their repertoire of skills, tools and information to leverage on learning moments. The programme is differentiated in view of the different student profiles that teachers have to manage.
